About
I’m a Literacy Coach in an inner-ring suburban school district in Metropolitan Detroit where I have been for 26 years. I started as a junior high choir director and elementary music teacher, then taught grades 2-5 (mostly 3). In 1997 I was ready for a new challenge and spent the next five years as an elementary media center teacher. I currently in my9th year as a coach–a job I love.
I successfully defended my dissertation on December 13, 2010, and now have a PhD from Oakland University.

Hi, Linda! It sounds like you’ve done it all in teaching!What a fine career, and now you’re going even further. I’m impressed.
More power to you for going on for your dissertation. I’m glad it’s you and not me, judging by the tweets!

A friend referred me to your site- there’s an awful lot here! I am still looking through it but thought you might find http://www.LessonWriter.com a helpful site in your work as a Literacy Coach. There’s 3-minute video introduction there that makes it pretty clear, but as you spend time on it you’ll find lots of ways to differentiate and personalize instruction.

I was just listening to the EdTech Classroom podcast which mentioned this tool. I’ll definitely have to check it out!
